March 25, 2025 - 84 miles, 4500 ft elevation, Fredericksburg, TX to Austin, TX
After an off day, we had the most perfect day for riding to start Tuesday. And the ride itself almost matched the day.
Starting from Fredericksburg, we had beautiful, near-perfect pavement for much of the ride. And where it wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t too bad. Winds were very light. We took it easy for the first 40 miles and got to lunch feeling rested from the off day and invigorated by the ride.

We ended up doing 4500 ft of elevation but it was almost entirely rolling hills so the elevation came mostly in bits of 50 ft here, 70 ft there. That’s definitely my preferred method of elevation.
We were in the desert just a few days ago. Grass and trees still feel novel to us. There was plenty of excitement seeing flowers coming up along the road. We’ve ridden that many miles with only needle-bearing plants and mostly dust and dirt.

Getting into Austin, we hit tons of urban lights and traffic which kept things easy for the day. Overall, we had an amazing ride and just thankful we get to be out here doing this.
