March 23, 2025 - 36 miles, 1300 ft elevation, Kerrville, TX to Fredericksburg, TX
Everyone was feeling the rough ride from Saturday but anticipating a much easier day. Much less elevation, much shorter. The recipe for a good recovery day before an off day.
Turns out the ride far exceeded expectations. After leaving Kerrville, we had smooth pavement for a tiny uphill stretch through 6 miles. We missed our turn by about a mile and had to double back for the only climb of the day. My Garmin had us at 14% grade but it was only a short climb and it was over in a couple minutes.
We had an amazing 20 miles of ranchland roads with almost no cars, very light winds, and the best Chip Seal we’ve seen in Texas. Rolling hills but small enough going up that the momentum of the downhill almost carries all the way up with a few strong strokes out of the saddle.

Coming into Fredericksburg, it was less than 2 hours and I was feeling guilty about not riding more on this beautiful day in amazing conditions.
Now we’re done with 3 weeks, feels really like we’re halfway done!!!
Off day tomorrow, full day of meetings from the van!
