March 22, 2025 - 85 miles, 5200 ft elevation, Camp Wood, TX to Kerrville, TX
After a not-so-easy day before, the 5000 ft of elevation, lousy Chip Seal, and headwinds definitely provided an intimidating forecast for the day.
After reaching the top of the second climb, Don fell again and broke his other wrist. He’s going to be in the van for a while but he’s staying and his son, Jackson, will continue to ride.
This was definitely the toughest ride so far. Maybe it will be the toughest ride of the trip. Half of the miles are now complete! That ride was tough, easily the hardest one yet. Might even be the hardest of the whole trip.
Hitting the halfway mark feels like a huge milestone, but it really shows how much is still to come. My legs are tired but they’ll bounce back. Half of the miles are now complete!
